| Long description | This is an exciting role writing news for a market leading commodities newswire, producing market reports on the global Oil Markets. The role involves liaising with brokers, traders and other industry professionals in order to produce news related to events in these markets that affect the supply and demand and therefore impact on prices. This is an excellent opportunity for a bright, numerate journalist to develop their news writing skills and learn about market reporting in the commodities sector. You will need to have a good understanding of economic current affairs, a strong desire to become a financial journalist and the determination to learn on the job, although some training will be given. As this role also requires you to compile price data you will need to have good metal arithmetic skills, as market makers will trade off the data you produce. You will be rewarded with a good starting salary and excellent benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months experience reporting on some aspect of the financial markets, a confident and outgoing personality and excellent English language skills - fluency in one or more European language would be an advantage. |
